On the surface, both of these seem like solid options. However, after deeper examination, both house extensions and log cabins have their pros and cons. It is important to understand these differences before making the final decision regarding which to build.

Although both options will come with a cost, ultimately, a log cabin will save you money when compared to a house extension. Why is this the case? Home extensions are far less flexible. This is because they must be built within the limitations of your existing house. You can only add rooms where space exists, which often results in winding up with less space than you had hoped for.
