Since the beginning of time, there has always been a debate about which animal is better, dogs or cats. Of course, these debates are quite silly to many: the animal you get is up to you and your personal preference. There is no right or wrong resolution when it comes to an answer to the question; it is just which one will suit you better. There are many reasons why you would choose a dog over a cat and choose a cat over a dog; sometimes, it simply does not matter. Here are some of the reasons why you would choose a dog or a cat, depending on their personalities and your own.

Cats:

Cats have been worshipped by humans for thousands of years in many ancient cultures, and they do not seem to have forgotten that. As a result, cats have very certain personality traits, no matter what kind of cat you ultimately get. Regardless of which breed of cat you encounter; it will still have cat-like habits. Here are some of these habits and traits that you will often see in cats worldwide.

• Cats have a very different body language to humans. If there is something to be said about cats, it is that they are very independent and distant. They enjoy being in the company of someone, but not in a way that a dog does. This is because they show their affection by simply being around someone. If they do not like you, they will make sure that you really know about it. As a result, cats come off as indifferent a lot of the time when really, they are just enjoying the feeling of the safe company that you give them.
• They look after you and do not just protect you. Dogs are often seen as loyal and protective of their owners, which is, in part, a good thing. You give them food; they give you protection, much like other dogs in a pack. Cats, on the other hand, are surprisingly nurturing; however, many people see this differently. They kill things for you to help teach you how to hunt. They see you as an equal or a kitten, depending on your cat’s personality, and will treat you as such. They will give you space to learn and play with you to enrich the bonds between both of you.

Dogs:

Dogs are a man’s best friend, so if you want something to worship on the ground you walk on and be doted on hand, foot, and finger, a dog is generally the way to go. They are relatively easy to look after and will eat many kinds of food, so whether you get your pet food in Phoenix or California, they’ll eat it. Unlike cats, most dogs are outgoing and social with other creatures and are more likely to take a curious stance than a defensive one, simply because they are generally not seen so much as predators. Here are some of the reasons why you might want a dog.

 

• Dogs are very needy. Unlike cats, dogs are incredibly needy. Most of the canine breeds feel like they need to be in some kind of community to be accepted and safe. That is why they will protect you, not because they see you as an owner, but also because they see you as a source of food and security. They will see you as a family member and as a tool for their own survival. Cats generally know they would cope fine on their own due to their confidence but like to hang around you for food simply because it is easier for them.
• Dogs are very social. It is a fact that dogs are seen as very social creatures, which is incredibly different from a cats’ more introverted mindset. This means that dogs are an optimal choice if you have a lot of people entering your environment daily. They will greet everyone and make them feel welcome and loved without question, whereas a cat is more likely to sit at the top of the stairs and watch from a distance before getting involved later on.

When it comes to answering the debate about which is the better animal, it is all up to you. Many people see cats as heartless, murderous things that are disgusting and selfish; others love them to bits. Many people see dogs as loud, intrusive, stupid, annoying, and reliant, and others think that they are angels sent from heaven. At the end of the day, it all depends on what you need to feel secure, whether you are relatively high maintenance, and in constant need of attention, or a little more independent, but you feel like affection is great anyway.
